It's back!! OVERhang and PGBRS are hosting a citizen boulder competition on Saturday, April 1, 2023 - as part of the PEAK Climbing Festival . Suitable for everybody and every BODY!
Three categories:
We will follow the Scramble format for the first two components (everyone is climbing and collaborating at the same time... it's not like everyone is watching you). Top-scoring women and men in the competitive Scramble go on to Finals, which are run in the World Cup format. The Finals are an exciting event for all to watch - you'll want to be there, e ven if you're not competing in the finals - it's a hoot!
The approximate timing for each category is 9-11:30am for Youth and Recreational Scramble, and 11:45am-2:30pm for Competitive Scramble, with Finals around 4:30pm... followed by an EVENING SOCIAL!
Youth, Rec, and Competitive Scrambles:
8:30am - Doors open to climbers and spectators
8:45am - Rules and Technical meeting for Youth and Rec categories
9:00-11:30am - Youth and Rec Scramble
11:35am - Rules and Technical meeting for Competitive category
11:45am - 2:30pm - Competitive Scramble
Finals:
3:45pm - Isolation opens
4:20pm - Technical and Rules meeting
4:20pm - Doors open to spectators
4:30pm - Finals begin!
Awards and Social Event:
6:30 pm - Announce winners for Youth and Rec categories
6:45 pm - Announce winners of Finals
7 :00 to 10:30 pm - We'll have food, drinks, and fun and opportunities to hang out with other climbers and outdoor enthusiasts. No booze on climbing floors, and no climbing after drinking! REEL ROCK Film Festival tickets may sell out fast, and the outdoor events on Sunday will likely consist of small group outings and workshops.
