Frequently Asked Questions

What are the expectations of climbers in the COVID-19 era?

Proof of Vaccination, reduced occupancy, physical distancing, one-way traffic flow, mask-wearing, and hand washing!!!

  • Any clients and spectators aged 12 or up must present proof of vaccination, effective September 13.  Adults 19 years or older must also present government-issued photo ID.  If you're a repeat customer and don't want to do this every single time, just sign a form indicating your consent and we will keep a record of your vaccination status.  As soon as the government mandate is lifted, we will delete that data.  You can also withdraw your consent in writing at any time.
  • Face masks that effectively cover one's mouth and nose are required for anyone aged 5+, and recommended for ages 3+. We have disposable ones available for free, and awesome reusable masks for sale for just $5.
  • Check online to see how many people are at the gym before you show up - we don't want you to be disappointed!  We reduced our maximum climber occupancy to 30 in response to the pandemic.
  • Don't come in AT ALL if you have any symptoms, if you have had contact with anyone with possible symptoms, or if you've travelled outside Canada within the past 14 days.  Just don't.  Not sure?  Please stay home - we look forward to seeing you some days later once you are sure.
  • Fill out your waiver online , and consider making any payments online , to reduce touch points.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately upon entry into OVERhang.
  • Wash your hands frequently throughout your visit.  Before a climb, after a climb, before and after drinking from your water bottle, before and after eating or touching your face, or adjusting a mask.
  • Liquid chalk is strongly encouraged and is available for free (find that wall mounted units), or for sale.
  • Give everyone at least 2m of space.
  • Follow all posted policies, and verbal instructions from OVERhang staff  They are all based on safety: your safety, staff safety, and safety of all other users.  They are not optional.
  • Bring your own water bottle, as the water fountain has been removed.  No showers available either.
  • GO WITH THE FLOW.... no really, we have designated how you can move through the space to help everyone maintain physical distancing.  One way into the cave, another way out... same idea in the programming room.
  • Thanks folks!  We'll all adjust to a new normal.  For more details, check this out .
