Avalanche Skills Training Level 2 (AST-2)

Take your skills to the next level!

Duration: 4 days.

By the end of this course, you will understand how to:

•  Be familiar with Avalanche Danger Ratings and
  verification techniques for personal use on a local
  scale.
• Be familiar with the Avalanche Terrain Exposure
  Scale technical model, as a means to develop
  personal, local terrain ratings.
• Use / demonstrate snowmobile terrain route
  finding to manage personal risk.
• Use travel techniques in avalanche terrain
  appropriate to the avalanche conditions.
• Proficiently carry out companion rescue.
• Recreational avalanche risk management
  techniques.

Participants must have sled, helmet, basic avalanche gear (shovel, probe, & transceiver), taken AST1 in the last 5 years, and review AST 1 materials.

Pricing: $750+GST.

Unless otherwise identified, the class will be hosted in the Prince George/Wells area.
