Basic First Aid (previously OFA 1)

This is a WorkSafeBC course and covers all the necessary components to certify the successful student for a period of 3 years.  

The newly re-modeled course is much simpler for the rescuer to learn and also now includes CPR and AED training.

The course curriculum includes:

  • Basic Life Support (CPR-A)
  • Small Wound Management
  • Critical airway, breathing and circulation interventions with C-spine management.
  • AED Training
  • Management of disease and infection spread

Duration: 8 hours (1/2 hour lunch and breaks)

Time: 830-430

Cost: $120.00+GST

Pre-Requisites:

  • 16 years of age
  • Must be physically able to be on your knees for an extended period of time
  • Valid Picture ID or letter from employer stating your identity
  • Must be able to complete paperwork and written exam
  • Comfortable clothing and socks required for course training
